Besides sponsoring our students, we tried our best to help with the pandemic situation which included providing tabs and laptops to support digital education as well as supporting parents who discontinued their kids education due to financial stress. For the First time, we were approached by someone out of Telugu states. A merit student from Salem, Tamil Nadu whose family yearly income was below Rs.80,000 got seat into naturopathy and yoga medical college with an annual fee of Rs.1,25,000. With the on going pandemic and Job struggles, family almost decided to drop the girl out of education but thankfully one of our volunteers came to know about the situation. We were able to support her get into college by paying her 1st term fee. We are hopeful to continue to help her moving forward.
We are all aware how pandemic affected small scale industries which in turn had a huge impact on families of employees of these firms. One such is the case of an individual from Secunderabad, Hyderabad. He used to work multiple jobs as a cab driver as well as food delivery boy and was out of work due to multiple lockdowns. He approached Roopa Nivas Nilayam through our website for his kids education as he was unable to pay the required fee. One of our sponsors helped him to ease his financial burden.
A servant maid from SriNagar Colony, Hyderabad, reached out to one of our coordinators seeking help to support her son pursuing 10th standard. He was not permitted to attend online classes/exams due to the pending fee payment. Her husband was a driver who lost Job due to Covid and she was the sole bread winner for the family of four. With the help of our generous sponsors, he got back to school.
We have two students studying in a well-known school at Habisguda, Hyderabad. As the school is aware of our organization, they mentioned about a Merit IIT student from 10th standard who was struggling to meet the fee requirements. She lost her father in an accident, mother is a home maker. Her uncle who was out of work due to Covid was her only sponsor till then. School offered a 25% waiver in the fee amount and we paid the rest of her academic fee so she could continue her studies without disruption.
